Our Nutrition Program encourages parents to eat with their children at breakfast and lunch. We also invite parents to monthly nutrition activities within the classroom. Engaging parents in the classroom provides support for teachers and models healthy eating for our students.
Twice each year, we offer 8-week cooking classes that are open to Head Start families. These cooking classes provide the tools to create healthy, well-balanced meals at home. We also host “Culture Weeks”, during which food is served to reflect the traditions of various cultures. Last year, we celebrated Native American, Hispanic, Polynesian & Hawaiian, and Chinese cultures.
Our entire Nutrition Program meets the Montana Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) standards. Our number one priority is the students of Head Start, and we welcome suggestions and participation from our parents and our community.
